Jawaharlal Nehru Science Fellowships
The Government of India is desirous of inviting eminent nature scientists of any nationality for short term research in Indian Institutions with a view to promote advanced scientific research within the country. A fellowship scheme named after Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India has been formulated.
The fellowship provides a compensation of US$100,000 for 12 months and offers flexibility to avail it over a total period of three years in any part duration/year. It provides also Rs.5.5 million Grant for R&D support and is available for research in any branch of natural sciences and mathematics.
Scientific eminence of the nominee would be self evident as indicated by earlier to the fellowships of prestigious science academies like US Academy of Sciences, Royal Society, French academy and their equivalents.
Nominee may need to be active in research as evident by the scientific outputs over the last 5 year period.

How to Apply:
The nominations for the Fellowship may be sent to Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Technology Bhawan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-110016 through firstname.lastname@example.org (please mention “Attention SS Kohli, Director, DST” in the subject of the email)
There is no prescribed format for nomination
The nomination letters should be accompanied by recent and details CV of the nominee and expressed willingness to accept the Fellowship, if offered
Since the Govt. of India wishes to initiate the Fellowship scheme by January 2014, early nomination byDecember 2013 are solicited
