Cucumber is good for almost every skin type. “Cucumber has natural property to hydrate and nourish your skin without making it oilier,” says beauty expert. Chill the cucumber slices in the fridge and apply on your face. You can also apply cucumber juice with a few drops of lemon in it.
Aloe vera-Aloe vera is beneficial for the skin as it deeply nourishes each skin tissue and also maintains the pH balance. Apply aloe vera gel on your T-zone area to control the production of excess oil.” You can also apply the extract of aloe vera direct from the plant and wash it after 10 to 15 minutes.
You might think that moisturizing is a bad idea, but it needs to be done! Just like with over-cleansing, if you don’t moisturize then your skin, it will become dry, which will in turn encourage more oil production. Choose a water-based moisturizer that’s non-comedogenic and oil-free. If you have combination skin, you might want to use a lighter moisturizer on your T-zone and a thicker formula on the rest of your face.
Lemon juice works really well on oily skin. Use it to cleanse and tone oily T-zone. “Take one teaspoon of lemon juice and mix it with equal amount of rose water. Use this mixture to cleanse forehead, nose and chin areas twice a day.” This also works as natural toner and unclogs the pores.
Use the right cleanser
“Many people think that washing your face or using acne products makes your skin produce more oil, so they avoid it,” says skin care expert. “Your oil glands will produce the same amount of oil regardless of how you treat it on the outside,” she explains. In other words, getting your skin to produce more oil would require a change on an internal, biological level, like a shift in hormones. Washing your face won’t do it.
If you’re washing with products that are too harsh, though, you will strip away the oils that make your skin look healthy and dewy. Therefore, it is important that you use a cleanser that suits your skin type. Try not to use a cleanser more than twice a day. One of your visits to the sink should include a wash containing salicylic acid, which helps absorb oil
